Grandpa Bill and Grandma Wendy's Wedding Weekend! (add prof. pics later)

My dad and Wendy got married two weeks ago!  We've been waiting for this day for so long and it turned out perfect.  The wedding and reception were beautiful, the weather was absolutely perfect, the bride and groom were glowing.  It was more then just a union of two people but of two families, 6 kids, 1.5 grandchildren . . . a beautiful story of redemption.

Here you are Thursday morning as we are getting packed and ready to start our trip to STL.
You look ready for a wedding alright!

Rehearsal and rehearsal dinner.

Wedding morning is here!
We started getting things decorated and set up at the Hawkin House for the wedding and reception.
It was such a beautiful space for an outdoor wedding and an inside for the dinner and dancing.

We had a great time getting our hair done.  I actually LOVED how mine looked.
In fact they did a great job on all of our hairs.

Wedding ceremony pictures will go here!!

The ceremony was wonderful.  The weather was absolutely perfect.  The 6 of us "kids" and our two parents look beautiful/handsome.  Dad and Wendy wrote their own special vows and had an epically disgusting kiss.  Quinn did a great job as flower girl- she walked all the way down the aisle, stood in front, turned the basket upside down, and dumped all the flowers out onto the ground.  It was perfect.

Our big happy family :)
After pictures we entered the reception to the theme of The Brady Bunch, which was so perfect.

Dancing the night away...

I have to say that Quinn and I killed the dance floor.  For a 8.5 months pregnant momma and a 2 year old who usually goes to bed at 8pm, we were pretty awesome that night.  Quinn didn't want to leave and managed to keep herself on the dance floor (or at least in someones arms on the dance floor) until nearly 10:30pm!  Jeff kept trying to take her home to put her to bed, but it's hard to get out the door with so many adoring family members and a little dancing queen.  I was tired but decided to stay until the very end to dance and help clean up.  My sweet cousin Marikate told me that she loved watching me dancing with Quinn on top of my very pregnant belly and how she wants that and can see that I was made to be a momma.  My sister also danced the night away like a party animal and even got Alex #2 dancing and smiling and having a good time.
It was the perfect day.  I am so happy for my dad and Wendy.

Dear Quinn... 26 months old

Dear Quinn,

Sunday morning we woke up with no power so we decided to go to breakfast and to the later church service.  So after eating we were still early for church and decided to go for a walk around the neighborhood.  You saw your imaginary alligator friend and bent down to say "hiiiii alligator, walk? yes?, ok!"  So alligator went on a walk with us.  We fed him acorns and a few times he went really fast down the sidewalk so you had to run after him to catch him and hold him, and hug and kiss him of course.  It was a fun morning.  You crack us up sweet girl.

You've also been asking me to sing "Joy King" to you at night, which is referring to a worship song that Daddy always used to sing to you (below).  You know a lot of the words and lay across my lap, around my big belly, while I rock you singing along to the parts you know or repeating them as I sing.  I know God's heart is filled with joy to hear your sweet voice.  Then you'll sometimes ask to pray for Jude and Josie, and then for everyone else you can think of.  So we pray and pray and then say amen.

"I Love You, Lord"

I love you, Lord
And I lift my voice
To worship You
Oh, my soul, rejoice!

Take joy my King
In what You hear
Let it be a sweet, sweet sound
In Your ear

Today we went to see midwife Sheila.  Afterwards we went to walk around the plaza.  We got you an adorable sweater at H&M and you LOVED the music they were playing and danced around the store making all the workers laugh and smile.  You are such a happy girl.  Then we went to Starbucks and Mommy got her free birthday drink, a Pumpkin Spice Latte.  We sat outside and watched a little bird while you had a snack and I drank my coffee.  It was a nice morning.

As always, you are very talkative and tell everyone you see about the things you love.  Lately that has been talking about the penguins jumping in water, the rino rolling in the mud, and the polar bear playing with his toy in the water.  (We had a very exciting day at the zoo a few weeks ago.)  You also love to talk about baby brother and your imaginary alligator.

We've been practicing letters a little bit and you have picked up on them really fast.  You can already identify a little more than half of the letters!  We have some yummy letter cookies that we practice with at night if you haven't had any accidents that day.  And of course we have tons of alphabet books that you love.

KC Baby Shower

Our friends Bree and Alicia threw us a fun and delicious coed baby shower with our closest friends, mostly from our Corpus group.  They made a delicious taco and margarita bar with cheesecake for desert.  Yum!  Alicia made an awesome banner that I will put up in Sawyer's room for the mobile and/or on the wall.  And my lovely sister came in for the weekend to attend which was awesome.  We stayed over really late, like 10 o'clock ;), while the guys played Derek's guitar and banjo and we sang and hung out.  The kids did great for being up so late although Quinn was super crabby once we got home and tried to get her to bed.  We have wonderful friends who are like family and love our babies like they were their own.  I know they are all excited to meet our newest addition.  We are so blessed to be a part of such a wonderful community.

Random pics, not from the shower:

Quinn actually watching football with "the guys".

Baby Sawyer bulging out of my stomach.

Dacning in PJs and snow boots.  Quinn's pick.  I have an awesome video of her dancing as well.
