Dear Sawyer, you are three weeks old today and currently sleeping on my chest. This was our first week just the three of us: you me and Quinn. I was scared of how things would go but we actually had a great week. You wish that I could hold you all day and I wish I could too but there's too many things to do with your toddler sister running around. She's actually been so helpful and loving, such a big girl, so grown up all of the sudden.
Quinn loves you so much and hasn't had any problems with jealousy so far. we have to watch her to make sure she doesn't stick her finger down your throat and gag you or pushing your head too hard or try to pick you up. She wants to carry around but you're practically half the size she is. The day after we got home from the hospital aunt Chrissy took Quinn for a walk, Quinn came back very excited because she found a leaf on the walk she said it was for baby brother. You got Quinn a baby doll named Eden for her big sister gift. Your first outing was to see Dr. Moylan, your pediatrician, he said you looked perfect and had been gaining weight well and joked that your sister would be protecting you and teaching you everything she knows and so you better get used to listening to her now.
You are already growing, you were 9 pounds when I weighed you before your bath earlier this week. I can't believe how much you've gained; i think your sister wasn't 9 pounds until about three months. I'm glad that you're eating well and that you are healthy. When you cry you make this sweet high-pitched sound like a baby pterodactyl. When you were first born you also made what Aunt Chrissy called the Zoolander Baby face- with your lips pursed out. When you're about to cry sometimes your chin quivers it's the sweetest thing.
We love you so much forever and ever.
Love,
Momma
Quinn and Sawyer both at about two weeks old.
